You're not alone - and you don't have to struggle with pain, nipple shields, low weight gain and any other breastfeeding worry. My 1:1 breastfeeding consultations are here to empower mums with knowledge. I’ll give you a practical plan to achieve your feeding goals

The process
What happens during a 1:1 breastfeeding consultation?
We will have a 1.5 - 2 hours in-depth assessment of you (mum) and your baby.

Discussion of birthing history
Discussion of feeding challenges
Discussion of evidence-based feeding strategies
Answering any general newborn questions you have
Oral & tongue function assessment (if required)
Every baby- and every mother - is different. So what we discuss may vary.

During the 1:1, I will give you advice, guidance and support that will give you breastfeeding confidence straightaway. However, I will also email a detailed care plan - so you can read, digest and action your plan in your own time.

After every appointment, I am only a text or call away. I will check in with you for up to 2 weeks after the appointment.

Tongue Tie & Oral Assessment
Tongue tie practitioner 1:1 consultation for babies showing the signs of tongue tie - or having tongue tie confirmed

Frenulotomy (tongue tie release) if required, followed up by feeding support & after-care by a lactation consultant
From reflux to 'colic', tongue tie can be the underlying cause for many breastfeeding and bottle feeding challenges, and generally unsettled babies.
I provide thorough tongue tie & oral assessments - and releases (tongue tie release) if required. But it doesn't end there, as a lactation consultant, I will support you with after-care too, making sure you have the right exercises and feeding plan to continue your journey.

As a qualified Lactation Consultant, I can support you holistically - making sure you have the feeding support you need, regardless of whether your baby has a tongue tie release or not.

The process
What happens during a 1:1 tongue tie consultation?
You will have a 1-hour assessment of your baby & their oral function.

Detailed discussion of your baby's birth, feeding history (breast or bottle) and symptoms
Assessment of oral & tongue function using Hazelbaker assessment tool
Tongue tie findings discussed
Tongue tie released (frenulotomy performed) if required
If a tongue tie release isn't required, I'll guide you with breastfeeding/ bottle feeding advice

Discussion of evidence-based feeding strategies
Every baby is different - and tongue tie cases are individual. So what we discuss may vary.

I am also a lactation consultant (IBCLC), which means you will receive an after-care feeding plan, regardless of whether your baby has a tongue release or not.

I always love to hear how you and your baby are doing after the procedure/ appointment. I will check in with you for up to 1 week after the appointment via a phone call.
